About the Minnesota Charms Quilt Show

The Minnesota Charms Quilt Show was created to provide a fun event for quilters and quilt fans to come together in a beautiful atmosphere to check out the newest quilting products and admire an amazing array of quilts.  As a result we've created the perfect place for you to be inspired for your next project!

The Minnesota Charms Quilt Show was created and is produced annually by Melissa Polo of the Hingeley Road Quilt Shop on Hwy 2 in Floodwood, Minnesota.
“We started the Minnesota Charms Quilt Show in 2010 to celebrate our 10th Anniversary at the Quilt Shop, the show seemed like the perfect idea - and it was a big success!  We've planned to continue the show for several years.” said shop owner and show producer, Melissa Polo.

ABOUT MELISSA
After 13 years at Maurices Corporate offices in downtown Duluth, St. Scholastica grad, Melissa Polo, decided she wanted to work for herself, closer to home in Floodwood, MN.  Her passion for quilting lead to an unexpected business venture when she and her husband opened the Hingeley Road Quilt Shop in December of 2000.  By October 1st, 2001 they upgraded to the custom built location on Highway 2, 4 miles east of Floodwood.  Polo’s continued enjoyment of quilting and endless creativity have positioned the store as the region’s largest quilt shop.  In the past few years, Polo has enhanced her business by creating an online store currently featuring over 5000 products, essentially opening the doors of her shop to quilters across the nation and beyond. Polo has also published 8 quilt books, including the Minnesota Charms series, and several patterns.  She’s worked with Hoffman Fabrics to design and produce exclusive batiks for her shop with Minnesota themes of wildlife and wilderness, her newest design will be featured at the show.

“Black Bear seemed like the ideal location, their new event center is beautiful and their location off I-35 is convenient for most” notes Polo.  “You’ll leave this show with many ideas for new quilt projects, or you can purchase a finished quilt to keep you and your family warm right now!”
